We came across Green Roads when we first researched CBD oils made in the USA a few years ago. They had just come onto the market in 2013 (we found them in 2017) and started out with a small line of CBD products.
We really liked their CBD oil back then, so we decided to re-review them this year to see if our opinions changed and give you an inside look at one of their most popular (and strongest) products - the Full Spectrum CBD Oil.
We've been testing for a little over a month now to make sure we gave it time to take full effect. Below are my thoughts on it and all the details about my experience. Let's get into it!
About Green Roads
Like I mentioned above, Green Roads got started in 2013 by Laura Fuentes, a pharmacist with 25 years of experience. In the beginning, her passion for helping her friends and family live healthier lives occupied her time on the nights and weekends, but it quickly grew into something bigger.
After Fuentes founded the company, they rapidly expanded their product line outside of just CBD oil to many other CBD products. Today, they offer everything from gummies to topicals, capsules, sleep supplements, chocolates, pet products, and more.
Green Roads is now the largest privately-owned CBD company in the United States and they partner with hemp farmers all over the United States to get the highest quality ingredients for their products.
Alright, now that you know a little bit about Green Roads, let's dive into my experience with their Full Spectrum CBD Oil.
What We Like Best
Overall, I found the Green Roads Full Spectrum CBD Oil to be very effective for improving my sleep quality. I am quite a restless sleeper and after several weeks of taking this product, I saw a noticeable improvement in my ability to sleep through the night and my sleep quality, without changing other aspects of my sleep hygiene routine.
Keep in mind, this CBD oil is meant for many other use cases like pain relief as well, but since I don't experience that I cannot speak to it. Looking at reviews from other customers, these drops seem to work very well for those use cases too.
When taking the CBD oil drops, I was pleasantly surprised by the naturally sweet flavor, especially given the fact that Green Roads doesn't add any artificial colors or flavors. This flavor made it pretty easy to take every night, although I was a little put off by the consistency. More on that later.
Another quality I really like about Green Roads is that every single product batch is independently tested by a third-party lab. All of those lab results for each product batch are linked from the product pages on their website, so you can view the results for yourself. They also include a QR code on the packaging so view lab results.
Lastly, I think the price range for this Full Spectrum CBD Oil is pretty moderate compared to the market. A 1500mg bottle is $149.99, or 9.99 cents per mg, which is slightly below average versus the brands that we compared to.
What We Don't Like
Starting with the unboxing experience, they really put a lot of care into their packaging. Each box is well-branded and comes with a note from the founder on the inside.
The only potential improvement I would suggest here is adding a little bit more "padding" to the packaging. The delivery process can be rough, so having some fill in the box can help protect the glass bottle from moving around too much.
Inside the box, Green Roads gives you three things: CBD oil, a plunger/stopper, and an instructions sheet.
As you can see, Green Roads has chosen to give their customers a separate stopper and plunger to measure and take their CBD, which is different from other popular manufacturers like Spruce and NuLeaf Naturals who include the plunger in the cap of the bottle.
Personally, I like the convenience of the squeeze tube. It is easier to take since everything is contained in a single bottle and I don't think I am missing out on any preciseness by not using a formal plunger.
The only other thing I didn't love about my experience with Green Roads Full Spectrum CBD Oil was the consistency of the drops. Even after shaking generously, I got a syrupy texture that didn't feel as clean as some other popular CBD oil drops. It certainly didn't affect the effectiveness of the drops, but it's just something to keep in mind. Also, this feedback may not be an issue for a lot of people (some folks may like it!), it was just my personal experience.
Overall, I think Green Roads Full Spectrum CBD Oil is a good CBD product for people with common issues that CBD can be effective against. It is moderately priced and every product batch is independently lab tested to make sure you're getting a high-quality product every time. The only constructive feedback based on my personal experience is the consistency and ease of use, which may not be issues for many people. What do you think? Have you tried Green Roads? Let us know.
