Is Viking Cookware Made in the USA?

For over 40 years, Viking has created professional-quality culinary products, including kitchen accessories, cookware, food prep, and cutlery. Now owned by Clipper Corp, which is Viking’s official manufacturer, they are known for providing kitchenware that can be used at home, but which has the quality and performance expected by professional chefs.

Viking offers professional-grade cooking products that come in a variety of materials and finishes, allowing customers to pick items that match their cooking style, facilities, and kitchen design. This includes high-performance non-stick, traditional stainless steel, and classic copper.

So, after forty years of making high-quality culinary products and being taken over by Clipper, we ask, is Viking cookware still made in the USA? We’ve done the research, check out our verdict.

Verdict: Is Viking Cookware Made in the USA?

Most of the 5-ply cookware from Viking is made in the USA. The 3-ply and 7-ply cookware is primarily made in China.

Looking through the Viking website, there’s only one page that proudly has the ‘Made in the USA’ stamp, which is the range of 5-ply products. This includes a range of stainless steel and nonstick saucepans, pots, frying pans, casserole pans, saute pans, and cookware sets.

All other product pages list in detail the materials used, but none say ‘Made in the USA’ or where the materials are sourced. We spoke to the customer service team who confirmed that the 5-ply range is made in the USA and the 3-ply and 7-ply ranges are primarily made in China.

Looking at their other product pages, we didn’t see any other products listed as being ‘made in the USA’, suggesting they’re made overseas. The 5-ply cookware range is produced by Clipper Corp, Viking’s official manufacturer, which is based in Los Angeles, California.

Viking isn’t very transparent about its manufacturing process or where materials are sourced from. Aside from the 5-ply range that mentions throughout that it’s made in the USA, there’s little reference on their site to where their products are manufactured. It took some digging with their customer service team and secret shopping to find out the country of origin for most of their cookware.
